So it’s definitely full-fledged Spring/Summer weather in LA (and pretty much everywhere North of the equator, right?), and I’m guessing the idea of a Summer adventure has crossed your mind. I am personally hoping to work out a haunted road trip up to Santa Barbara and maybe a mid-week stay at The Ace. Whatever you may be planning, TenOverSix is proud to sell the perfect trunks for the body of water you will be chillaxin by come June.
Shorts People swim trunks and board shorts are the perfect combination of vintage inspiration and modern humor, which is totally appropriate considering Lina Hellden and Milton Carter came up with the idea for the company whilst sippin on Jägermeister in a hot tub. The trunks in particular are for the man (or woman! We got these in small sizes too so the ladies wouldn’t miss out on the fun.) who likes to show off a bit of leg while also showcasing his impeccable taste in prints, showcasing either a pink palm trees or blue and green fishies that look as though they came straight from a sea animals poster. The board shorts are slightly more modest in length and cut, even coming in navy for those who appreciate a more classic aesthetic.
Shorts People trunks and board shorts are both $85, and currently only available in store while we update our e-commerce site. You really do have to come in and try them on to truly appreciate them, anyway.
TenOverSix has collaborated with one of our favorite eyewear brands, LA Eyeworks, to create shades so perfect for this Spring/Summer that even my inner goth is putting aside it’s usual logic and getting giddy for pastel. Based on a pair of vintage Italian beauties that our Art & Design Director Brady Cunningham stole from her father (we won’t tell if you won’t), the Vic sunglasses will be sold exclusively at TenOverSix and LA Eyeworks starting next week in a unisex dark tortoise and opaque pink and saffron.
While they are clearly perfect for the warm months ahead, the Vic, even in its milky pastels, will look just as good with a t-shirt and jeans as it will with a full-length gown, fur, and kitten on your head. So come get your pair of these modern Italian throwbacks before they’re all gone.. And if you tried to get a pair of Karen Walkers while those were still available, you know how quickly good sunglasses go around these parts.
So we just got in a pair of LD Tuttle wedge sandals called “The Line,” and if you’re looking for a Pris from Blade Runner x Mr. T collab for your Spring/Summer wardrobe, this is shoe is for you.
Obviously, we’re pretty into the clear, plastic heel this season, but The Line puts our attempt at 80s-referential futurism to shame.
In addition to the slightly muddled, ridged plastic wedge that looks like the fossil of a science project gone wrong, this shoe has a mohawk. Fierce. I mean, do you see the profile on this thing? And for those of you who aren’t quite convinced (possibly because “hairy feet” isn’t the first phrase that comes to mind when thinking of a sexy Summer shoe), the nude coloring coupled with the bright red straps on each side is so Pris, it balances out the Mr. T, hairy feet masculinity, while of course maintaining the propensity for major ass kicking.
The Line Wedge by LD Tuttle, $615, available online and in stores. If you’re looking for something with a more subtle hawk, try LD Tuttle’s Helmet Sandal, also available online and in stores.
So everyone likes surprises, right? Well, Society for Rational Dress’ Leather Strap Jacket provides my favorite kind: hella leather and metal strappage. The front view of this jacket looks like a slightly-more-wearable Rick Owens design, but the back? Oh man. The excess of thin leather straps, each buckled and a bit droopy, gives off the perfect Witch-Motorcycle-Gang vibe. Sort of makes you want to emblazon SCORPIO RISING on the back, but yknow, there’s not really much need to; you already have enough leather back there to make a formidable weapon.
Unfortunately, all of the Society for Rational Dress items in store right now aren’t here permanently, so come in before the end of the month to check this beauty out!
Society for Rational Dress Leather Strap Jacket, $895.
