When we first got these in, I texted a picture to my friends with the caption “ZOMGZ. NEED.” One of them texted back “Those are the quintessential Tank Girl butt-kickers that every woman needs.” As my personal resolution for 2011 is to return my wardrobe to a more post-apocalyptic aesthetic, this shoe is perfect for me right now.
In addition to being paired with layers and layers of the blackest Owens and Demeulemeester (or cut up military tops, short shorts, and a knee bandage), I can just as easily envision these boots with long, camel, chiffon skirts and slightly-too-big sweaters or the quirky and off-beat prints and cuts of Comey’s clothing. They’re a slightly refined, heeled answer to Doc Martens, and I want to wear them every day of my life, with everything that I own. I mean, greyish leopard print is basically a neutral, right?
