If you’ve been keeping up with our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or blog, you may have noticed a number of new posts from or about Dallas. While our sister store opened up a month ago, that was just the tip of the iceberg of our exciting, new ventures in conjunction the expansion of The Joule Hotel, located in the middle of our new favorite city’s downtown – There’s a coffee shop, accessories store, and a lot of designing going on, and it all opened last week! Read more about it below, and be sure to visit the Joule to see it all in person the next time you’re in Dallas! The Joule Hotel, along with all of these exciting projects, is located at 1511 Commerce Street. All additional contact info can be found on our website.
So TenOverSix Dallas has been open for a short time now, and we’re happy to report it’s going great! We definitely feel like we’ve found our niche here; we’ve met really great people, have put together an excellent, fashionable staff, and are excited to get more entrenched in the local scene. While the store itself looks similar to TenOverSix LA, our Dallas store is tailor-made for our second home with specially selected pieces from Suno, Opening Ceremony, Chris Benz, Araks, Jasmin Shokrian, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and lighting by Bec Brittain and Adam Silverman of Heath Ceramics. We’ve loved getting to know Dallas and hope to bring our clients there (and those visiting, of course) pieces that are reflective of our distinct style as influenced by Dallas’ ever-evolving downtown culture. Keep up with news and new arrivals on our Instagram and blog. Our Dallas store is open all week, 10 AM – 6 PM.
Weekend Coffee, a third wave craft coffee shop, was conceived by TenOverSix with the initial goal of cementing The Joule Hotel as a social and cultural center for Downtown Dallas. It is an experiential environment pairing great coffee with a playful atmosphere. Serving coffee brewed using Seattle’s Victrola Coffee Roasters we have a strong commitment to product sourcing, top quality brew methods and a passionate staff. We’ve enhanced our role in the life cycle of coffee by providing an easy going, artfully designed atmosphere complete with a foodie centric retail offerings. Our ultimate goal is to empower and engage people so that they can enjoy a unique experience and a truly great cup of coffee. Find out more about Weekend Coffee at the Joule Hotel’s website, Weekend’s Instagram, and our blog. Your new favorite coffee shop is open 7 days a week, 6:30 AM – 6 PM.
After working with The Joule to open the Tenoversix Dallas shop, we were given the truly exciting opportunity to head the re-design on the hotel lobby and hotel staff uniforms! We also worked with The Joule’s art consultant in selecting the right pieces to live in the new lobby. The process was a lot of fun, and the results have been amazing, with the new lobby adorned in pieces by designers Piet Hein Eek, Jason Miller, Alma Allan, SCP, Lawson Fenning, The Future Perfect, vintage Knoll, and art by Andrew Kuo, Jessica Rath, Rainer Judd, Eileen Quinlan, Dan Rees, Nicolas Deshayes. Our efforts were just covered by T New York Times! It’s been a busy year building out TenOverSix Dallas, Weekend Coffee, the concept Taschen library, and The Joule hotel lobby, and we loved the experience so much that we’re continuing to expand our business to include commercial design. We have additional projects in Dallas and Beverly Hills underway, so be sure to keep an eye on our blog for further details.
TenOverSix Presents is our take on a hotel gift shop plus so much more. It has everything from fun little trinkets to beautiful home goods by Pigeon Toe, Fredericks and Mae, Kelly Lamb, Atwater Ceramics, Joshu+Vela, M Quan, Deck Towels, and Fort Standard, just to name a few. It’s got some decidedly more masculine goodies for the men in your life while still totally unisex; there’s something here for everyone with our favorite selection of magazines, records released by Mexican Summer, children’s goodies, handcrafted arrows, and humorous beer cozies. It’s the place to go when you need something specific that you can’t find anywhere else or when you just want to browse for a little pick me up, with a delicious treat from Weekend Coffee in-hand, of course!
