Thank you so much to everyone who came out last night for the premiere of Maximilla Lukacs and Sarah Sophie Flicker’s short film for the Wren Fall/Winter 2012 collection, Beware of Young Girls, starring the 16-year-old who every woman I know wants to be when she grows up, Tavi Gevinson, fashion darling and editor-in-chief of the feminist lifestyle e-mag for teenage girls, Rookie, who was also recently profiled by the New York Times. (Don’t worry, I didn’t expose my massive fangirl status by telling her that I thought the work she’s doing for young girls is really important or anything. I totally kept it cool and not awkward.) If, for shame!, you missed out, here are photos from the event and the beautiful short film Beware of Young Girls, featuring a haunting cover by Tavi of Dory Previn’s “Beware of Young Girls.” Yes, she can sing, too.
